Middleton, WI — Sony Creative Software has announced the availability of the latest update to the Catalyst family of products, which includes Catalyst Browse 2016.2, Catalyst Prepare 2016.2, and Catalyst Edit 2016.2.

Since their inception, these three products have provided users with a streamlined path from camera to post across both the Mac and Windows platforms, becoming indispensable tools in the arsenals of Digital Imaging Technicians (DITs) and filmmakers alike. Catalyst Browse is a powerful clip-management utility designed specifically to support the full range of Sony professional cameras and decks. Catalyst Prepare offers expanded device support, along with robust clip organization and backup tools, precise color monitoring and per-clip color correction, extensive metadata support, and interoperability with third-party video-editing applications. Catalyst Edit delivers a fast, focused editing environment for 4K, RAW, and HD video.

“The Catalyst software line has always evolved relative to our users’ needs, and that trend continues with this latest update,” said Brian Orr, Head of Sony North America Professional Engineering. “All three applications feature enhanced file format support for ingest, playback, and transcoding and provide solutions to common production challenges while maintaining the fast, straightforward workflow our users have come to expect.”
