Recycle old gadgets with Sony on America Recycles Day

You can always tell when it’s time – it’s missing buttons, won’t turn on, has been collecting dust in your garage or closet … Time to give your abandoned electronic a whole new lease on life and yourself some shelf space back. Bring it to America Recycles Day at Sony!


Sony Electronics is proud to sponsor a free public consumer electronics recycling event in five cities.  Drop-offs will be accepted at the following location and hours:

Sony Electronics Inc. Building 7, visitor parking lot, 16530 Via Esprillo, San Diego, CA  92127, 8:00am – 2pm

Sony Electronics Inc. South parking lot area, 2201 E. Carson, Carson, CA 90810, 10am – 2pm

Sony Electronics Inc. Front parking lot, 12451 Gateway Blvd, Ft Myers, FL  33913, 9am – 1pm

Sony Electronics Inc. Parking lot, 1200 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Itasca, IL 60143, 8:00am – 4pm

Sony Electronics Inc. Employee parking lot, One Sony Drive, Park Ridge NJ  07656, 8am – 12pm

What’s in it for you besides the extra space and doing something good for the environment?

When you drop-off an electronic at participating Sony locations, you have an opportunity to win a Sony Cyber-shot digital camera (model DSC-HX300), made with Sony’s recycled plastic (SoRPlas).

For those of you who live in the Houston area, Sony is partnering with Waste Management to host a children’s book collection and ewaste event on Saturday, November 16 from 1 – 5 p.m. at Town Green Park on The Woodlands Water Way.

What we’ll take:

Recyclable household consumer electronic items, including televisions, computer monitors/displays, stereos, computers, cell phones, etc.  All brands accepted!

What we can’t take:

Batteries, microwaves, humidifiers, thermometers, air conditioners, smoke/fire alarms/detectors and large household appliances, such as dishwashers, refrigerators and washer/dryers
