The world of loyalty cards and awards seem like they’ve advanced quicker than modern day automobiles. For a few of us, we can reminisce about the days when they were flimsy punch hole paper cards that would get lost in wallets or even dot stickers placed on a driver’s license indicating that you were a premium member at your local VHS rental shop. Now they range from credit card points to simple phone numbers you can rattle off mid-checkout while you watch your grocery bill shrink in front of your eyes. And as mobile phones became the “never leave home without” accessory, a new crop of shopper incentives has arisen.
One of them, Shopkick™ focuses on enhancing the experience for in-store shoppers and has recently been featured in Forbes, InStyle and Mashable. Once you sign up and download the app (for Android™ and iOS) , you’re on your way to interactive in-store shopping. You can scan an item you like and start to see fellow shoppers’ scans highlighting the store in an entirely new way.
So to celebrate our Sony shoppers on Shopkick™, we worked with our pals at Best Buy to do something fun. Now BestBuy in-store shoppers can use the Shopkick™ app to scan items to earn “Kicks™”; points that can be redeemed for Facebook credits, movie tickets, and more (or, for you super Shopkick™ fans who earn major Kick™ numbers, you could even redeem them for a 3D 55″ Sony BRAVIA® HDTV!). There is a slight catch in that it is only for select Sony products in-store. When you visit your local Best Buy, you’ll want to scan the Sony Walkman® S Series 8GB Video MP3 Player with Wireless Headphones (model: NWZS764WHI); it will earn you 500 Kicks!
