Like a lot of you out there, I’m a pretty avid hobbyist photographer. And like a lot of hobbyists, I’m self-taught. Picking up tips here and there from blogs, friends, and Flickr, I’m always wondering if there isn’t a better technique – some simple techniques I’m missing that the pros all know.
Enter Adam Dean, the recipient of this year’s Sony Emerging Photographer Award. Known for his gripping, dramatic war photography, he knows how to get a great shot in a split second, under any conditions. For SGNL by Sony, I met with him in San Francisco and went on a photo walk with him around the neighborhood while he shared his tips for getting gorgeous, interesting photography in any setting.
Adam using a Sony α850 DSLR Camera and me using my trusty α NEX-3 camera. You can see some of the results on my Flickr account. I’m also a member of the Sony Camera Club. Check out the photos and let me know what you think!
Oh, and if you’ve got any great photo tips, be sure to reach out by posting a comment or reaching us on Twitter #SGNLbySony. I’m always looking to learn something new!
