We’re giving away a Sony® Bloggie Touch™ HD Camera a day!

by Team Sony 04/25/2011

If you’ve been hearing the word “Bloggie” lately, it may be because the slender and stylish MP4 camera from Sony is poised to take over as favorite MP4 camera around. Last week, the feisty fans at Coachella had a chance to try the camera by borrowing one for the day to capture videos and grab stills of their favorite bands, their friends, whatever. We put the video camera in the hands of our friend Matt Fong at the show and you can see some of his test footage here. Matt also wrote on Twitter, “looks like my YouTube will come back to life thx to the #bloggie…I haven’t uploaded a video in over 4 years”. That’s what we want to hear and we want to give even more of you a chance to populate the blogosphere with video of the awesome moments in your life – captured with the Sony Bloggie Touch camera.

Today we’re kicking off a way for even more of you to get a Bloggie Touch camera in your hands for FREE! Starting now, you can text for a chance to win a Sony Bloggie Touch camera. We’re giving away one video camera a day, every day, until July 17th, 2011. You can enter by texting “BLOGGIE” from your phone to the number 84848 (text messaging rates apply) or visit SonyText.com/Bloggie and enter there.

Check out the official rules how to win here. And of course, if you’ve got a Sony Bloggie® camera in your hands we want to see the videos you’ve captured. Send us a link, by dropping it in the comments below.

Thanks so much, Michelle! Good luck with the contest! I’m excited to hear what you think of the Bloggie Touch after you try it. There have been some fantastic improvements since Webbie, which was our fist MP4 camera… by the way would be very cool to see some of your video if you have them online. We recently featured a couple of filmmakers on our blog who did a short film with their Webbie! I was so good it was accepted at Sundance, SXSW and has received tons of recognition. It’s always so fun to see how our users are using their Sony products.

I’m really hoping to be able to either win one of these, or save up for one someday. I have my degree in Communications and would love another toy to have. All I have are Sony products. :)

Good luck Lynne! You know, you have such a great point… if I had a camera like the Bloggie when I studied production… wow, I would have been so liberated. Do you video blog?

What are some of your other Sony devices? It’s always fun to hear about other’s setups!

Here’s to hoping I win. My cam recently died a violent watery death. Total shame since I was finally going to start answering the backlog of questions in my VYou acct.

Awesome Patrice! Crossing my fingers for ya. I started a VYou account too but haven’t really used it. How do you like it? Any tips?

I like it for sure…My early responses are grainy http://vyou.com/patricec mostly because despite working of a few different computer cams nothing can give you the same resolution a handheld cam does…I will definitely get back to it, clear out my question queue once I get a new handheld…

Hi Mark! There is a time and place for both. I use my cel as well, but when it comes to video I still trust my Sony camcorders. My moments are too important to risk the chance of not capturing it well … and on top of that, uploads dependent on wifi just aren’t as nice to look at or so easy to upload when you have a large file.
