Order Dates Ensuring Holiday Delivery Draws Near

by Gina 12/15/2009

Every year it’s the same story. Day after day goes by and you tell yourself, “Today I’m going to order everyone’s gifts”. You get home and get caught up on other important things and before you know it, it’s the night before the holidays and you’re rummaging through paper weights and socks at the only store open until 9pm.

For the last-minute gang out there, I felt obligated to share this shipping calendar on our site. No, it doesn’t hold the cache of other fun blog posts we’ve done in the past but if you’re the type of person that used to start (or starts) school papers hours before the deadline (like me), then this calendar could come in quite handy.

For every day that passes it shows the last date to order specific items before the carriage turns into a pumpkin and you’re out of luck for a December 24th delivery. The calendar includes specific deadlines for hot ticket items like computers and TVs . It also gives you dates on shipping type. So you at least get one warning for standard shipping and then a last chance deadline for express.

In fact today is the last day to order for Fed Ex Standard Shipping orders plus Expedited Service on CTO VAIO Notebooks for items to arrive by Dec. 24th. A lot of the deadlines are happening this week so be sure to check out our calendar to help guard against one late night of shopping and a box full shampoo bottles as gifts.

I guess I must have got lucky when I put my order in today for the PS3 Slim because it still said I got the upgraded Holiday Delivery at no extra charge even though the deadline was almost 5 hours ago.
I ended up paying about $60 more but that other discount bargain company didn’t have a phone number, paypal would not go through their site and they take 2 days to answer email plus reviews say to expect 2-3 weeks for delivery.
Gee, how many RED FLAGS have to fly before you say – $60 dollars more is mighty well spent. At least I know my order will arrive for sure.
