The VAIO P Series Mannequin Campaign wrapped up this past February. In case you missed it, the campaign centered on models made to look like mannequins, dressed in couture designed by the hottest up-and-coming labels, and toting Sony’s diminutive P Series Lifestyle PC. The models took to the streets of New York City’s most fashionable neighborhoods to demonstrate the benefits of the stylish PC and give passers-by the opportunity to experience it firsthand.
VAIO partnered with up-and-coming designers ThreeASFOUR, Elise Overland, Katy Rodriguez and Libertine to outfit the mannequins. These designers, along with Benjamin Cho and Cushnie et Ochs, collaborated with our SonyStyle stores around the country to create eye-catching window displays that showcased the blending of style and technology.
Sony also held an exclusive party featuring all 6 designers and other VIPs to usher in this year’s Fashion Week in NYC. The campaign wrapped up as the VAIO P Series Lifestyle PC made appearances in the hands of celebrities, celebrity bloggers, and other denizens of the runway front rows during Fashion Week. The unconventional campaign was an amazing success and in case you missed any of it, jump over to our flickr page to check out all the photos or our YouTube page to watch all the video recaps.
Here’s two in a series of videos you’ll find on our YouTube page where we sent a video crew to capture and document the reaction of unsuspecting New Yorkers interacting with the Mannequins.
Were you in New York City during Fashion Week? I’d love to hear your experiences, especially if you ran into one of the Mannequins. Include your stories and/or comments below and if you caught snapshots of the mannequins in action, send them to me via e-mail and I’ll post them in a special album.
