It’s Fashion Week in New York and Sony’s new VAIO P series of lifestyle computers is right in the middle of it all. I sat down with Alberto Escobedo, a director in our corporate marketing department, to discuss an exciting promotion he and the team are working on that that involves live mannequins modeling the product at hip night spots and high traffic locations, as well as a big event at our flagship Sony Style shop in New York featuring the styles of four emerging designers (with VAIO P notebooks of course) in the Madison Avenue storefront windows. Plus, there are a bunch of online, video and social networking components to the promotion — all designed to encourage people to check out the product for themselves. Alberto also took a moment to debunk a rumor swirling on the Internet about the live mannequins’ appearance at Grand Central Station.
