C’mon on now — who hasn’t watched a James Bond movie and thought “how cool it would be to a secret agent?”

We may not be able to send you off to an exotic locale or put you in touch with M but we might just be able to hook you up with a cool Bond gadget.

I’m Jon Piazza, PR manager for VAIO. I wanted to let you know that in celebration of the new Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures/Columbia Pictures release “Quantum of Solace,” Sony is auctioning off an exclusive 007 VAIO® notebook with all proceeds going to charity.

Limited to only 100 units and specially numbered, one bond enthusiast will get the seventh notebook in the series complete with an engraved 007 gun logo and matching leather carrying case.

Utilizing the VAIO TT chasis, the 007 notebook will come equipped with a powerful Intel® Centrino® 2 processor technology, a 64GB Solid State Drive, a stunning 11.1-inch XBRITE-DuraView™ widescreen LCD and built-in webcam.

And in keeping with agent 007’s tradition of saving the planet, Sony will donate all proceeds from the auction to 1% For the Planet.

An alliance of businesses committed to creating a healthier environment, 1% For the Planet was started by Yvon Chouinard, founder of Patagonia, and Craig Mathews, owner of Blue Ribbon Flies, who are passionate environmentalists that happened to be running successful businesses.

They understood it was good business practice to protect the natural resources that kept them in business and adopted the mission to seek out other successful companies, such as Sony, who were like-minded when it came to helping the environment.
