It’s a place where records are broken, legends are born and tricks performed defying conventional wisdom. Born sixteen years ago, the X Games continues its reign as the premier destination for extreme sports fans around the world. This week thousands will descend upon Los Angeles with a coveted ticket for events ranging from skateboarding to bikes to Moto X.
The X Games will once again make history with its inaugural 3D television broadcast. Sports and 3D fans not in X Games attendance can now witness spills and thrills in an entirely new light.
ESPN’s new 3D channel, ESPN3D, will be broadcasting two select events this week.
THU JULY 29 8:00 PM ET X GAMES: MOTO X FREESTYLE & MORE
SAT JULY 31 7:00 PM ET X GAMES: RALLY CAR RACING & MORE
If you have a 3DTV, you can simply visit the ESPN3D website to check cable providers and ensure you have all the necessary gear to experience the games. The Sony Style stores are also taking part in the fun by offering store visitors the chance to check out the broadcasts in-store. Sony Style stores across the country will be airing these two broadcasts (during store hours) for fans. You can find a local store here.
If you happen to be in Los Angeles for the games, be sure to stop by the Sony tents. We’ll have VAIOs out for fans to get online as well as bloggie MP4 cameras for folks to use. And who knows, maybe a few give-aways…
You can also follow @SonyElectronics on Twitter for some fun play-by-play happenings from the tents.
My favorite event is the Big Air competition as my heart literally stops “in flight”. Looking back at the 16 years of X Game history, what’s your favorite moment that you’d like to relive in 3D?
