With all the Sony 3D excitement buzzing around the internet, everyone is looking ahead to hear more news on the Sony 3DTVs. We expect to have more US related news this Spring (such as pricing, etc.).
In the meantime, I thought I’d share a cool prototype displayed back in October at CEATEC in Japan (stands for Cutting-edge IT & Electronics Comprehensive Exhibition). This was Sony’s prototype 360 degree 3D display. Although there are no current plans for commercialization of this gadget, it’s a great example and display of Sony’s constant innovation and continuous research in 3D technology. Viewers of the prototype can walk all the way around the device to see different angles of the same image. For example, if it was an image of a person, by walking behind the device, you’d see the back of the head. It’s 96×128 pixels but packs an impressive punch in highlighting what can be possible.
