Marilou Pych is senior vice president of Corporate Planning and Procurement at Sony Electronics.
In this position she is responsible for coordinating the budget, forecast and mid range strategies as well as driving financial performance for the company’s U.S. electronics business. Her responsibilities also include corporate procurement activities.
Pych joined Sony in 1990 as an accounting manager for Sony Semiconductor, a chip manufacturer located in San Antonio, Texas, moving on to become controller in 1995 and then director of finance and administration for the plant in 1998.
After completing the assignment of closing the chip plant in 2004, Pych accepted a position as vice president of finance for Sony’s U.S. electronics engineering and manufacturing facilities located throughout the U.S. and Mexico. In 2005 she moved to San Diego, California to assume her current role in Corporate Planning.
Prior to joining Sony, Pych was assistant controller for Insilco Corporation, a diversified manufacturer of specialty goods and services located in Meriden, Connecticut. Pych began her career with Price Waterhouse where she became a CPA. She holds a B.S. degree in accounting from the University of Connecticut.
Pych is a member of the San Diego chapter of FEI (Financial Executives International) and previously held the position of treasurer of Home Court, a charitable organization located in San Antonio, Texas which raises money for local women and children’s charities.
