A few months back, I posted the article “Dash Personal Internet Viewer:Your Questions Answered”. There, I received a ton of feedback looking for the Dash to work outside the US. I also saw comments on Facebook and Sony Style’s product reviews.
Overall, you’ve been asking to access Dash in countries around the globe and the Dash team heard folks loud and clear. I have great news to share as the restrictions that prevented Dash from initializing and working outside of the USA has been removed. W00T!
Just a quick note however that Dash is still primarily intended for use in the United States (only sold in the states) and the availability of apps and services will vary by region. For instance many providers automatically geo-filter their content so your experience with your Dash may vary depending on your location. I’m super excited to share this news! Thanks to the many folks who posted their thoughts on the blog and on Facebook. It’s appreciated.

Nope, it doesn’t work outside US any more. Funny thing is that it doesn’t say so when you want to buy it. Why?

It`s unbeliveable that a great idea like dash were buried for all non US costumers that would love to buy it! In my last trip I toke one of these in my hands and, sure, didn`t bought it because of this un-freaking-beliveable policy that forbid even the register outside USA. Another thing: Why shoud I register to use the device? I shoud register the appstore to buy an app, not to use the device! Why, Sony, why coulnd`t you guys just sell this amazing gadget for anyone who wants to buy it! It`s really an annoying way to trat your costumers!

Until now Dash can not be registered online from other countries. User from all over the world are not able to use Dash with the configuration resources. Sony nows this for a long time but has no answer until now. I bought mine during a trip to NY last November 2010 (almost 1 year!) and am not able to register it yet. Sony seems not to care about the issue.
We could start a consumer campaing called SONY DON`T CARE and stop byiung ALL SONY products all over the world. Maybe the Marketing team get some attention to this issue.
