Tips & Tricks: Taking a 3D Panoramic Photo with your Sony® Camera

by Sarah 04/28/2012

School is almost over and summer is just around the corner. That means families will be heading to the beach, to their favorite theme parks and other popular destinations for their summer vacation. This also means a ton of photo opportunities! Just imagine your daughter is building a sand castle, your son is on his boogie board and your husband is out on the raft catching some rays. It’s the perfect family day and now you can capture it all on one photo with your Sony 3D panoramic camera!

To show you how to take great 3D panoramic photos, here’s Peg demonstrating on a Sony DSC-TX10. Keep in mind, each camera is slightly different so be sure to check the owner’s manual or visit us at http://esupport.sony.com/ for your specific features and menu options.  Now make sure you exit out of easy mode before you get started and let’s start creating 3D panoramic memories!

So how did you do? Let’s see those pictures! You have some time before summer vacation starts, so if you need a helping hand to get started, please don’t hesitate to comment here or email my team at sonylistens@am.sony.com. We’re always happy to help! Have a snappy and a fun filled photo weekend!

Hi, please help me, I love my Sony cameras but all my panoramic fotos are very low res, I try all the options mentioned above, pix are ghosty, nasty looking unlike the glorious beauty of all the normal modes taken w my Sony HX200v, help!!why are they so small, I ideally would like the pix to be 3 to 4mb but all the panormaic are under 2mb and they are worthless. Thanks!

Hi walter, To shoot high resolution panoramic pictures, set the Panorama Image Size setting to HR in the camera menu. Resolution is measured by the amount of pixels in a photo, not the file size. The HR setting for panorama on the DSCHX200V is 10480 x 4096, providing approximately 43 megapixels.
