Do you have a pet? If you do, chances are you’ve tried to snap a photo of your cat or dog, right? Pets are like family but just like toddlers, it’s hard to get your four legged friends to pose for a photo when all they want to do is roll around at your feet or get you to play a game of fetch. Here’s a tip for some of you who have Cyber-shot® cameras, look to see if your camera has “pet mode”. If there’s an image of a cat (some of us in the office also think it looks like a pig) in your menu, your camera has “pet mode”. Choose it to take photos of your feline or fido and you’ll notice a reduction in blur and less chance your photo will have the evil glowing pet red-eye!
If you need a little more incentive to try “pet mode” how’s this: Sony is teaming up with Petco for a “National Adoption Reunion” and for every pet photo you send them Petco will donate a dollar up to $10,000 to pets in need. Need more incentive? How about the great grand prize which includes a trip to San Diego (where both Petco and Sony Electronics have headquarters), an exclusive pet photo shoot that will be featured in a future Petco ad spread and in Good Housekeeping Magazine. If you don’t want to do it for yourself, do if for your attention seeking pet!
If you’re in NYC on October 4th bring your adopted pet to Central park for a chance to break a Guinness World Record by being the largest gathering of adopted pets and owners. You can find details here but beware, you must bring proof of adoption for your adopted pet to participate in the Guinness World Record. If you make it over, make sure to stop by the Sony both for a chance to have your pet expertly photographed.
If you’re nowhere near Central Park, but you can get to a Petco store on October 8-9, stop by to meet the cuties waiting for adoption, a number of stores will have a Sony photo booth ready for you to snap a picture of the special day and if you stop by you’ll get a commemorative collar charm too.
