Sony’s Camera & Lens Concept Models

by Gina 01/26/2011

When you go to an electronics show like CES, similar to what you might see at a car show, many brands feature what they call “concept” models in addition to their newly announced product lines.  You may have checked out some of the sci-fi gear in my pal Sukhjit’s post .

Then there’s some gadgets behind glass cases you can’t touch. Perhaps there’s only one, perhaps they want to focus on the current gadgets. Whatever the reason, the SGNL team was able to get a behind-the-scenes look at some of the concept models presented by Sony’s Digital Imaging Team. Literally unlocking the glass cases, there’s exclusive close up looks at telephoto lenses , what was titled a “a700 successor” and some NEX E-mount lens and adapters. Additionally they couldn’t help but play with the ever-so-cool Handycam camcorder with projector currently on pre-sale at Sony Style. At first that might seem odd, but after playing with the camcorder a while, they couldn’t get enough.

Check out their latest episode and if you think of anything you’d like to see SGNL tape (or change), be sure to leave a comment. I know they’d love the feedback.

Any thoughts on the rumored “HX100V” camera?
I am hoping that this model will be the successor to the HX-1

I’m really excited about the NEX lens adapters. Adds even more functionality to these already amazing cameras. Any word on pricing? I’m guessing around $199 per adapter?
