Win a Sony Internet TV

by Team Sony 10/04/2010

By now you’ve surely heard the rumors about Sony Internet TV with Google TV. You know—the first HDTV powered by the Google TV platform so you can watch TV and surf the Internet simultaneously. It’s a multitasker’s dream device.  We’re getting close to launch and to get you pumped we’re giving away 5 Sony Internet TVs to 5 lucky winners over the next 5 days.

How can you enter? Simple, you have 2 ways to participate. Send a tweet to @SonyElectronics letting us know how you multitask using media and include #sonyinternettv in the tweet.  Not on Twitter? No problem. Leave a comment to this blog post, following the same rules and you’ll be entered too.  We know 140 characters isn’t much, but be creative and feel free to use things like pictures and video.

Our panel of judges includes Chris Pirillo, Jon Rettinger and Toby Turner. They are powerhouses when it comes to creating shows online and reaching fans with their blogs. Need some inspiration on what to “Tweet”? We asked Toby Turner, AKA Tobuscus to help. Watch his video, be inspired and send us your entry! We can’t wait to begin announcing the winners! Good luck!

Now for the legal stuff. You’ll find the official rules below.

Mainly edit and create videos that I record using Fraps. I make slide-show videos with pictures and music. I use Photoshop which helps me with my photography. I would very much like to win this.

When I’m doing my homework and I sneeze, I don’t stop doing my homework or close my eyes to sneeze. I keep my eyes open and sneeze right on my paper so I can continue doing it without missing a beat. Does that count?

I’m a busy college student. I have to ride the bus everyday to Texas State University. I used my iPhone to tether to the internet while on my Sony VAIO E series notebook to check my school e-mail, look at all the latest blogs, youtube updates, world news, and even do some Pre-calculus if I have enough (which can be alot lol).

    So how’s that???

@SonyElectronics I multitask by watching Top Gear, checking my gmail, playing a game of Words with Friends, and listening to Pandora all at the same time while doing research for my homework.
    #sonyinternettv
The Sony Internet TV would allow me to do almost all of these things at the same time all in one device.

I would surf the web or watch videos on the internet while doing my homework. My classes require me to study so I would keep my music playing and read a book as I wait for a notification on my video game for I have been queued up for some PVP action.

Most of my multi-tasking is done at night after school. I log onto google news, google chat, and turn on my DVR. My classmates and I watch the same shows so we chat or text message (or more rarely, call) during the commercials. At the same time I have winamp/itunes playing music at a low level (currently listening to Lights), the news on my first monitor, kotaku news (video game news) for school, and a yelp and food truck mapper on my second monitor just in case we need to go on a gourmet food truck run (which we’ve done every day for the last few days – did someone say White Rabbit food truck?). This is all while I’m downloading demos for my 360 and PS3 to see which new game I’m going to get this month (It’s looking good for Medal of Honor). And I usually have a movie that I’ve already seen playing on a small window on the corner which I glance at once in a while (last night’s movie was a Grindhouse double feature – I just like to have something playing in the background at all times). Phew .. and if I have time, homework. An HDTV would help because not only will I finally make the conversion to TrueHD, mine only does 720P, but I’ve been dying to see what an Internet TV can do. Maybe I can finally stare at one screen for more than 5 minutes.

This new Internet TV is so awesome! How would I use it? Well that is fairly simple. I am a gamer and I love the PS3 So as far as media goes I have lots of movies, music and all that good stuff on my PS3 and I stream it between my PC and PS3 but now with the Internet TV thrown into the equation I would be able to watch movies, play games, and Google chat Providing that this tv has PIP or a custom interface where I could possibly even video chat while gaming now that is a dream! Not to mention that being that this is an Internet TV I would assume that I would be able to use Hulu and that would make it even more awesome. So many possibilities but that is how I would use it.

My name is Alex Kelly and this is how I multi-task using media. Mostly on school days I multi-task using my Samsung Eternity phone… texting friends and whomever else, while on my HP Netbook doing school work for my classes. Another thing I do during this time is watch It’s Sunny In Philadelphia on my school’s desktop for humor… but also listening to my iPod Classic at the same time. Multi-tasking is heaven, and it sure passes time and allows for fun and excitement.

    How i multitask with media.

Spotify and Web browsing and Messenger at once! Music, facebook and chatting! Or gaming Call Of Duty and listening to music at the same time, using the wonderful invention, MULTITASKING.

And phone, login to applications using passwords I got by SMS! Multitask between the SMS application and the application I am logging in to, instead of remembering everything!

And how I would multitask with the Sony TV with Google TV!
I would download applications to use when waiting for programs I want to see, if I am out early to watch it. I would search the web if I would like to know something about the programs I am watching or search up hot girls I’ve seen in movies thats on TV. I am a big fan of Google’s product and I am a proud owner of a Google Nexus One, which I would use as my remote for the TV if I was the lucky winner.

Good Luck holding the contest up!

I turn my tv on for SportsCenter and go to shower with a timer on my tv set for 30 minutes. after i shower, get dressed and go down for breakfast. using a recipe from my ipods cooking app, i make my breakfast and pack my backpack while it cooks. then its off to school at 8

I definitely Multi-task everyday. When I’m on my computer, I’ll be watching Youtube videos while working with Photoshop, also while doing those things, i’ll be talking on the phone or texting. On top of all that, I’m browsing the internet for cool electronics. To final it with multi-tasking, eating. Another example of multi-tasking is during work. When I’m ringing up the customers items and the phone rings, I answer it while still helping the other customer and helping the person who called.
