Win a Sony Internet TV

by Team Sony 10/04/2010

By now you’ve surely heard the rumors about Sony Internet TV with Google TV. You know—the first HDTV powered by the Google TV platform so you can watch TV and surf the Internet simultaneously. It’s a multitasker’s dream device.  We’re getting close to launch and to get you pumped we’re giving away 5 Sony Internet TVs to 5 lucky winners over the next 5 days.

How can you enter? Simple, you have 2 ways to participate. Send a tweet to @SonyElectronics letting us know how you multitask using media and include #sonyinternettv in the tweet.  Not on Twitter? No problem. Leave a comment to this blog post, following the same rules and you’ll be entered too.  We know 140 characters isn’t much, but be creative and feel free to use things like pictures and video.

Our panel of judges includes Chris Pirillo, Jon Rettinger and Toby Turner. They are powerhouses when it comes to creating shows online and reaching fans with their blogs. Need some inspiration on what to “Tweet”? We asked Toby Turner, AKA Tobuscus to help. Watch his video, be inspired and send us your entry! We can’t wait to begin announcing the winners! Good luck!

Now for the legal stuff. You’ll find the official rules below.

I have a two year old and my husband currently deployed to Afghanistan so I’m the queen of multitasking. I honestly don’t know what I would do if we didn’t have the technology we have today. My son and I are able to talk to my husband through Skype while we share pictures on Facebook. While my boys play peek-a-boo on the webcam I’m uploading pictures from our latest play date or family event so my husband can see what we’re doing while he’s gone. I also keep my husband updated on all the latest music he’s missing out on. An internet tv would be amazing because not only would we be able to see my husband on a larger screen but my son could watch his favorite cartoons while doing it. Gosh it would almost be like having my husband home. Almost.

I am intersted in #sonyinternettv. Currently I have a Sony Bravia Tv connected via computer to the net running XBMC and TvVersity to watch internet Tv and media. I set up my browser and desktop to work with a wireless keyboard and mouse from my couch Logitech has some great mice and keyboards that worked for this.
After suffering a head injury my vision became more difficult and the large Sony monitor/TV helps me retrain my eye muscles. I also found the crispness of the video helped raise my spirits. Watching happy Foreign dramas with subtitles is a good eye workout.
I also use Google talk and chat and am looking forward to uses for the new Google OS when it is finalized. I start my day with Google news and my homepage is Google search as i use it the most. If there was a way to wire Google implant I would be inline. An accident left me with holes in my memory’s and the Google search is the best I have found for intelligent lockup.
I have also made links for listening to internet radio shows. One thing I wish I could do on my Sony is to keep the audio going and have the video turn off while listening to the audio only programs.
I am hopeful the Sony internet TV will use less energy than all the devices it takes me now and can add more internet features. I hope they incorporate the phone calendar chat etc. in a e-convient to use fashion.

While I am in the mid-term exam writing and figure out answers, I am observing the professor and his TA’s behavior. I notices when I was search my backpack for the pencil and eraser, his TA approached me :) Also, I am monitoring the progress/speed of the students nearby me, whether they are trying to see my answers. Also, in mind I am struggling to not get bored and try to think of something interesting like how to make fun of the male classmate seat by me. Besides, I was trying to figure out what asssumptions I am making might hurt my scores and maybe after exam I can manipulate the professor to get my points back like a professional lawyer. I am also aware of how many students left in the classroom and how much time left :) how many pages that I need to complete. How to cut short cut to finish my exam questions :)

I am super multi-tasker, sometimes I am distracting myself and don’t know what I am doing :) just like in my fantasy/dreams

    Hi Sony,

I would do everything simultanously, watch TV while I am loading the latest news given by Google TV and by the way I would cook a great low fat instant meal and I would play with my mobile phone and style my hair. It´s that easy ;-)

Ha! I always multitask. Can’t get much done unless you do it all at once you know? I always browse my e-mail and surf the web for the lastest in tech news while watching TV. This would make life so much easier too on football sundays if I could instantly send a tweet to my buddies sticking it to them when the Giants take down their Jets. Actually, why not send a text, e-mail, and tweet them all at once if it doesn’t require I use anything more than a TV. Ah, how much fun would that be…

Multitasking is the only way to keep up. How else can you be watching Dancing with the Stars and Monday Night Football on the TV’s Picture In Picture while casting your votes for your dancers, chatting through Facebook, and finishing a presentation through your laptop ALL at the same time? Now to be able to do it through one 40″ HD Screen would be awesome!

his camera is great! I have done all the research I can and this is is! However, DO NOT PURCHASE FROM SONY ONLINE!!!! I’ve never experienced such horrible customer service! I payed extra for shipping and it didn’t ship on time, so i cancelled it. I was told it was cancelled to find out that they didnt cancel it, it was on its way,too late for me to pick it up (as i was leaving on a trip)!!! They wouldnt cancel the order when it hadnt even left for shipment! I could not believe how horrible they treated me! OH and here’s the best part: they managed to cancel one item on my order: the smaller lense that came with the “bundle package” i purchased which is a pretty good deal and pretty much the reason I bought it online. wow! so now I just payed more for the camera than i would have not buying it online, didnt receive the deal, oh ya and the camera isnt even here yet!!!!

DO NOT BUY FROM SONY ONLINE!!!

check out BESTBUY! they have a better warranty/service plan too!!!

It’s such an inconvenience to go back and forth from one thing to the next. That’s why Sony Internet TV and Google TV are so ingenious. Now I just hope that I can have it in a 40″ screen… #SonyInternetTV

I want this for my legally blind 77yr old mother. She use to use the internet untill her screen is just too small. This would enable her to do a lot of stuff to make her life easier. Also she would have TV again thru her internet. If she got this, she would be able to communicate again thru this tv to family and friends and enjoy the library of things to do on the internet. Its come a long ways since she last got to use it due to her poor vision and small screen. We don’t have the money like this to just go out and buy it so it would be fantastic for us to win one and I know she would be helpful in offering you all advice on how visually impaired people could get more helpful apps for them.
    Sounds and looks great….
