Part 3: Think Pink, VAIO Style

by Team Sony 10/01/2009

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and Sony is thinking Pink to help support the cause.  Today we announced a pink W Series mini notebook bundle with a portion of the proceeds going towards the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.  The bundle includes a perfectly coordinated mouse and mini-notebook case and although the pink hue may turn heads, the features are pretty cool too:

  • Flash a Smile: A built-in camera and mic make it easy to video chat with long distance family and friends
  • Eco Friendly: The W Series uses a mercury free display, is ENERGY STAR 5.0 compliant and ships in packaging made of 98% post-consumer recycled content
  • Durable and Light: Only 2.6 lbs (w/ standard battery) and still sturdy enough for any family member

We’re also offering a Rose Reader Pocket Edition bundle to help support the cause.  The bundle includes a gold clutch case and four free inspirational e-books.  Check out Sukhjit’s unboxing video below to learn all the ins and outs.

Last but not least, once again we’re hosting our annual “Shop for a Cause” to benefit the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.  Learn more about how to make a difference by reading Gina’s post on the SonyStyle blog.

I too Think Pink, VAIO style. A month before Breast Cancer Awareness Month of October, I purchased a pink VAIO CS320J, on which I am typing this comment. To my mind, the Sony VAIO is not a computer you simply *use*, but one that you *Wear*. Pink adds a personality, it adds a hint of the teenaged girls, especially with their pink electronics in Japan, and it adds a touch of whimsy (or maybe a call for pity?) when “worn” as the computer of a middle-aged balding man such as myself. But I flaunt it proudly, complementing the pink VAIO with a matching pink mouse, mousepad, and carrying case. And I indeed proudly used it during October Breast Cancer Awareness month at various coffee shops and other public places. (P.S. I also have orange-and-gray luggage!)
